Worrying more about his workload than anything else, the Los Angeles Dodgers will option young starting pitcher Julio Urias to Triple-A Oklahoma City instead of letting him make at least one more start before the All-Star Break.

The 19-year-old pitcher had put up a 1-2 record with a 4.95 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in eight starts with Los Angeles prior to being demoted on Tuesday. His most recent start against the Baltimore Orioles on the Fourth of July saw him yield five earned runs in 3.1 innings while striking out six and walking six.

Urias' total of 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings made him an electric performer on the bump. He's going to have an opportunity to hone his skills in the Minors before what should be a late-season call-up to the big league club in August or September.
