As the Los Angeles Dodgers slowly see pieces of their rotation return with Brandon McCarthy in the rotation and Brett Anderson not too far away, they will still have to wait a little longer for ace Clayton Kershaw to return. On Sunday, Dodgers' manager Dave Roberts said Kershaw will not return to the rotation on Thursday.
Kershaw has been out since June 28 with a herniated disc. It required a trip to the 15-day disabled list and required an epidural. After some time off and working with team physicians. On Saturday, Kershaw threw 60 pitches in a simulated game and there was some speculation he could return this coming week. But the Dodgers will play it safe with the MVP candidate and take things a little slower.
When more information becomes available on when Kershaw will return, we'll update you.
