Jhonny Peralta Activated from 15-day Disabled List

In the midst of an injury-plagued campaign that has seen him play in just 30 games, St. Louis Cardinals infielder Jhonny Peralta has once again been activated from the disabled list.

Peralta missed the first two months of the year after undergoing off-season surgery on his thumb. After suiting up for the next month, the veteran was then placed on the DL again back in mid July.

The veteran's return is interesting for a number of reasons. First off, he's now going to take over as the Cardinals everyday shortstop after playing third earlier in the year. A solid bat throughout his career, Peralta hit .275 with 17 homers and 71 RBI a season ago. You're going to want to let him get comfortable at the plate again, but Peralta represents a solid under-the-radar option in DFS contests should he remain healthy.
