Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg Unlikely to Pitch in NLDS

With the MLB Playoffs starting in one week, one of baseball's best teams will be without its ace to start the postseason. Washington Nationals GM Mike Rizzo announced on Tuesday that Stephen Strasburg is unlikely to go during the divisional round of the playoffs.

Strasburg has not pitched in a game since September 7th when he went just 2.1 innings after suffering a flexor strain in his throwing elbow. Prior to that, the All-Star missed three weeks with a separate arm issue. Needless to say, Strasburg likely won't be on the mound again this year unless Washington advances deep into the playoffs.
