Less than 24 hours before opening day, the Kansas City Royals took a big hit to their lineup and core. Catcher Salvador Perez suffered a torn MCL after he slipped and fell carrying his luggage, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports. Perez is expected to miss the next six-to-eight weeks.

In Perez's absence, expect Drew Butera to pick up a majority of the playing time at catcher. He is not a trustable fantasy option.
