Any thought given to the idea of Wade Davis being moved between now and the non-waiver trade deadline can now be thrown completely out the window. Davis was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a flexor strain in his right arm.
With the Royals pretty much out of contention in the AL Central, Davis, 30, has been the subject of trade rumors over the past several days. The All-Star is pitching to a 1.60 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 35 games this season.
With Davis sidelined, Kelvin Herrera will likely take over as Kansas City's closer until the former returns.
