While the struggling Los Angeles Angels continue to face mounting injury concerns, at least one player might be back with the team here soon. Out since undergoing Tommy John Surgery back in 2014, former top prospect Tyler Skaggs will take part in a rehab start for Triple-A Salt Lake City on Thursday.
Skaggs, 25, last pitched in a game back on July 31st of 2014. After multiple setbacks recovering from the surgery, it appears that he might make his way back to the big league club by the end of this month, which would represent a full two years since he last pitched.
Skaggs, a first-round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2009, has posted an 8-11 record with a 4.72 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 31 career starts over parts of three seasons.
