The Chicago Cubs will reportedly call up two pitching prospects in time for Friday's game against the Colorado Rockies. Rob Zastryzny, the team's second-round pick back in 2013, will be brought up from Triple-A Iowa. The 23-year-old lefty has posted a 4.31 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 23 minor league starts this season. He's currently ranked in the top-20 among Cubs prospects.
Meanwhile, the team will call up righty reliever Felix Pena from Triple A as well. Pena, 26, had been pitching to a 3.41 ERA with an absurd 11.5 K/9 in 36 appearances in Iowa at the time of the move.
There's no concrete indication what corresponding roster moves the Cubs will make. Though, it must be noted that neither Zastryzny nor Pena are on the 40-man roster. Veteran starter John Lackey has been dealing with a shoulder injury and could potentially be placed on the 15-day disabled list.
