As the Chicago Cubs struggle to stay near or above .500, things haven't been made easier by a slumping offense. A big part of the team's struggle to score runs is third baseman Kris Bryant's cold streak at the plate as of late. Now Bryant will find himself on the bench once more this weekend with an opportunity to take a game off and clear his head, to try and refocus and turn things around next week.
Over his last 152 plate appearances, Bryant posted a .208 batting average and struck out in 20.4 percent of his plate appearances. The 25-year-old third baseman is still drawing plenty of walks with a n outstanding 18.4 walk percentage over that span, but things haven't gone his way when he makes contact and puts the ball in play. For fantasy owners who spent a first-round selection on Bryant, the turnaround for him should come fairly soon and the numbers many expected will then start to come with it.
