Lester is having a fantastic season for the Cubs this season. Even after giving up three runs in his last start his ERA has risen to just above two. In his four starts prior to that one, he had only allowed two runs while walking none, and registering 33 strikeouts in 30.1 innings. Now he faces a Marlins team that despite winning six of their last nine games have not been hitting the ball well of late. In their last four games they have only scored 11 runs, and until Stanton turns his season around they don’t have a power threat to scare pitchers making studs like Lester a great start.
