Scherzer has been his usual dominant self this season, and after setting a career high in strikeouts in his last start he gets another shot on the mound to add to that total. For a while Scherzer was a legitimate threat for 300 strikeouts and while he won’t reach that total he should have plenty of whiff in today's start against the Marlins. The Marlins have struck out in 23 percent of their at bats against Scherzer, and with just two homeruns, and 11 RBI in 265 team at bats off the righty you can expect another CY Young quality outing out of Scherzer. Do be sure to check on his status however as there is the chance that the Nationals opt to not start him today in the season finale, and just rest him for the playoffs.
