Fantasy Baseball: Mock Draft 1.0

In the first mock draft of the Fantasy Baseball draft preparation season, my strategy was to build from the middle infield out. My thoughts behind this was due to the scarcity of middle infielders, and the surplus out outfielders. Here is what  we came up with

Round Selection Position

Hanley Ramirez SS
Troy Tulowitzki SS
Chris Sale SP
David Price SP
Brandon Phillips 2B
Matt Carpenter 3B
Gio Gonzalez SP
Jordan Zimmermann SP
Jered Weaver SP
Wilin Rosario C
Julio Teheran SP
Hyun-Jin Ryu SP
Carl Crawford LF
Evan Gattis C/OF
Johnny Cueto SP
Justin Masterson SP
Francisco Liriano SP
Clay Buchholz SP
Ben Revere CF
Michael Brantley LF
Chris Johnson 3B
Justin Morneau 1B
Dayan Viciedo LF
David Freese 3B
Joe Kelly SP

This was for a standard 12 team league where the starting requirements are: Catcher, First Base, Second Base, Third Base, Shortstop, Corner Infield, Middle Infield, Five Outfielders, Utility, and Nine Pitching slots.

Evaluation

In this particular mock, I selected 12th overall out of 12 teams, and was happy with the result. However, one of the strategies was to wait on outfield, since the position is so deep. But, I would recommend taking at least two outfielders in the top 10 rounds because of the amount of outfielders needed. Whereas this is not a perfect draft, it could have been a lot worse.
