My Value Plays
Pitcher
Zack Wheeler, Mets, $6,900: Prior to his last start wheeler had looked good having not given up more than three runs and pitching at least six innings during a four start stretch. The young power pitcher goes into his next start against the Padres who rank dead last in every batting category this year. Look for Wheeler to rebound, and rack up the K’s against this atrocious offense.
Catcher
Russell Martin, Pirates, $3,000: Martin is looking more like his former all start self over the last week. He has a five game hitting streak during which he has even stolen three bags. While the steals are more of a thing of luck he’s hot at the plate and should continue to be so.
First Base
Adam Lind, Blue Jays, $3,100: Lind has been very productive at the plate this year. While the power has not been there he has a very good average which currently sits at .333. He has a four game hitting streak right now and gets to see Bud Norris tonight who has allowed four or more runs in four of his last six starts.
Second Base
Omar Infante, Royals, $2,700: Infante has struggled mightily since coming off of the DL from a back injury. Recently though there have been signs of a turnaround. Infante has a four game hitting streak during which he has scored four runs. Next up on the mound for the White Sox is Hector Noesi who has been just awful this season with a 5.40 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP.
Third Base
Casey McGehee, Marlins, $3,100: While McGehee doesn’t have near the power he once did he is hitting for a great average and driving in a ton of runs. On the season McGehee is batting .303 with 39 RBI and has an eight game hitting streak. Casey is thriving in a surprisingly strong Marlins offense and at his cheap price tag you can’t go wrong.
Short Stop
Starlin Castro, Cubs, $2,700: Castro is rebounding nicely in 2014 with a .275 average, nine homeruns, 29 runs scored and 34 RBI. Castro is proving to be a legitimate useful fantasy catcher and has a great matchup today against David Buchanan who has not pitched well so far in his short stint in the majors with an ERA of 6.08. Castro is swinging a hot bat right now and should continue to do so against a mediocre starting pitcher.
Outfield
Bobby Abreu, Mets, $2,600: The resurgence of Abreu continues and has been so good that he has actually been moved to the number two hole which is going to provide a nice boost to his counting stats. Last night Abreu went 4-4 with two runs and two RBI and with the way he’s been swinging the bat for the Mets makes for a great, cheap option at the outfield position.

Don't forget to check your lineup before each game to make sure that everyone in your lineup is starting. The last thing you want is a zero spot in your lineup costing yourself money.
