Fantasy Baseball Daily - May 15, 2014

Unfortunately for us tonight we only have eight games worth of players to choose from and four of them are day games so be sure to get your lineups in early so you don’t miss out players in what’s already a limited player pool.  Despite the limited number if games I have found some value picks that should help to make your lineup a winning one.

We bring you fantasy daily picks for FanDuel .com and if you haven’t signed up  yet, be sure to follow this link http://eDraft.com/FanDuel/MLB to receive a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit. This is an amazing deal that you can’t miss so be sure to check it out and make yourself some extra cash. The cap for FanDuel is $35,000 with only one player at each position like a real MLB lineup (with the exception of outfielders where you can start any three players that are outfield eligible).

The scoring system for FanDuel  is as follows:

Batters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,
Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt

My Good Value Plays

Pitcher
Yovani Gallardo, Brewers, $6,400
: Gallardo has been impressive this year and appears to have regained his form from a couple season ago when many people envisioned him developing into an ace.  While he may not be the ace many envisioned he has been more than useful in daily’s up to this point and faces a struggling Pirates team that he pitched very well against nearly a month ago to the day.  With Wandy Rodriguez coming off the disabled list, he is expected to start but to say he ahs been terrible this year would be an understatement.  Gallardo and the brew crew should have no problem getting a win today and getting you the ever precious bonus points for getting a win.

Catcher
Salvador Perez, Royals, $3,100
: Perez has been on a tear over the last four games as he has collected at least one hit in all of them and multiple hits in three of them.  When healthy Perez is one of the better hitting catchers in baseball and while he is hot it would be wise to use him to your advantage in daily leagues.

First Base
Adam Lind, Blue Jays, $3,000
: Lind has picked up where he left off for the Blue Jays before injuring his back.  Since coming back he ahs scored six runs (five in his last four games) hit one homerun and driven in five.  The opposing pitcher for tonight’s game is Danny Salazar who despite having electric stuff has struggled nightly in 2014.  He currently owns a 5.65 ERA and has already given up six homeruns in only 36.2 innings pitched.  As a powerful left handed batter facing a right handed pitcher this bodes well for Lind to drive in some runs and possible even hit his third homerun of the season.

Second Base
Brandon Phillips, Reds, $2,900
: In recent games Phillips has been moved to the three hole while Votto is now batting cleanup and the results have been good for Phillips.  He had a very nice 3-4 game last night and now has his average up to a respectable .285.  With the speedster Billy Hamilton leading off and finally getting on base and Joey Votto batting behind Phillips, he should have no problem driving in runs and scoring them as long as he continues to keep up his batting average.

Third Base
Trevor Plouffe, Twins, $3,000
: After a rough stretch that saw Plouffe go 0-20 he has picked up his batting with two hits in back to back games.  Not only is he hitting the ball but he is driving the ball well with a double in each game and a homerun last night.  When Plouffe is going good at the plate he is a tough out making him a good start in daily’s while he locked in at the plate.

Short Stop
Mike Aviles, Indians, $2,800
: Since the beginning of May, Aviles has done nothing but hit the ball.  Right now he is .300 hitter who is either scoring a run or driving in a run in virtually every game he plays.  This kind of production is hard to come buy especially at only $2,800.  Enjoy the hot streak and ride Aviles to victory.

Outfield
Chris Parmelee, Twins, $2,500
: Parmelee has been red hot since getting called up from Triple-A.  After last nights 0-4 his batting average dropped to a still impressive .350 to go along with four runs scored one homerun and two RBI in only five games.  Clay Buchholz is the scheduled pitcher for the Red Sox tomorrow but he has not been the same pitcher we saw last year.  Bucholz has been getting hit hard in many of his starts and has given up six runs three times already.  If you are in dire need of a cheap outfielder you sure could do a lot worse than starting Parmelee.
