The Baltimore Orioles have reportedly retained All-Star power hitter Mark Trumbo on a three-year, $37.5 million contract. It's a rather surprising development considering Trumbo was looking at other options and the two sides were seen as far apart in negotiations. It also comes after Trumbo himself demanded a lot more money on the open market. 

From a fantasy perspective, the Orioles retain their best power hitter and the reigning American League home run champion. Last season saw Trumbo hit a career-high 47 homers while driving in 100-plus runs and compiling 75 extra-base hits. Considered a right fielder in the fake baseball world, Trumbo finished third at his position in fantasy points, behind only Mookie Betts and George Springer. 

Trumbo's return to Baltimore should be big for his fantasy production in 2017, as he hit 25 of his 47 homers at Camden Yards last season. Interestingly enough, he did post a higher batting average, on-base percentage and BABip on the road than he did at home. Again, this is telling when it comes to his possible production this upcoming season.
