Cincinnati Reds utilityman Scooter Gennett entered Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals with three homers on the season. He tied a Major League record on Tuesday with four homers against Cincinnati's division rivals.
You read that right, Gennett (who was released by Milwaukee in the winter) tagged the Cards for FOUR home runs to go with 10 RBI in Cincinnati 13-1 win over the Red Birds. That's some absolutely ridiculous stuff.
But let's also remember here for a second that Gennett headed into the week's action amidst a 0-for-19 slump. Monday's two-RBI game helped break out of said slump before the veteran himself went absolutely crazy against St. Louis.
There's not much to see here from a fantasy perspective, as Gennett was hitting .270 with just 20 RBI on the season prior to Tuesday's outburst.
That doesn't mean what he did against St. Louis was less amazing.
