He might only be up for a day or two while the Chicago Cubs deal with numerous injuries, but the organization's second-best prospect, Ian Happ, was promoted to the Majors on Saturday.
Happ will start in right field and bat second against Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez. From a fantasy perspective, there's not a lot to take into account over the short-term. Unless Happ absolutely dominates in his brief cup of tea with the team, he will be sent back down to Triple-A Iowa within a few days.
As of right now, the Cubs are without Addison Russell, Kris Bryant and Jon Jay due to minor injuries. Each one is expected back here soon.
Happ was hitting .298 with nine homers and 25 RBI in 26 games in Triple-A when he got the call. It will be interesting to see how he performs, especially when taking a gander att the long-term fantasy implications.
