The Philadelphia Phillies will reportedly promote top outfield prospect Nick Williams from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in time for their weekend series against the New York Mets.
Williams, a second-round pick of the Texas Rangers back in 2012, entered the season as Philadelphia's fourth-best prospect. The 23-year-old was hitting .280 with 15 homers and 44 RBI prior to being called up from the minors.
The expectation here is that the left-handed hitter will start primarily against righties while in the Majors. Though, Williams did strike out 90 times in 282 at-bats in Triple-A. That has to be of concern for those of us looking at him being a fantasy boon.
