After missing a month of action earlier this summer with a hamstring injury, Cleveland Indians All-Star second baseman Jason Kipnis has once again been placed on the 10-day disabled list. Kipnis aggravated the injury in Tuesday's game against the Boston Red Sox and could be out up to the next month.
Kipnis, 30, has struggled to the tune of a .228 average with 11 homers, 30 RBI and a .285 OBP.
With Kipnis sidelined, Jose Ramirez will likely continue seeing regular action at second. An All-Star this season, Ramirez has been a major surprise for the contending Indians. He's hitting .300 with 18 homers, 59 RBI and an AL-best 39 doubles on the season. His flexibility to play both second and third makes him a valuable commodity in the fake baseball world.
