Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler has been attempting to play through a hamstring injury over the past week or so. Unfortunately for both the Tigers and one of their best hitters, he aggravated the injury on Friday and had to be placed on the 10-day disabled list.
This most definitely isn't good news. We've seen the likes of Yoenis Cespedes and Josh Donaldson sidelined for well over a month due to hamstring strains. We're not too sure what that means for Kinsler or how serious his injury is in comparison. What we do know is that hamstring injuries can linger.
Kinsler, 34, entered the weekend hitting just .239 with four homers and 11 RBI. If he continues at this rate, it will be the worst performance of the veteran's career. Maybe a little time off will help him get back on track from the plate.
