Washington Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman had missed the team's previous three games with a stiff lower back. He returned to the lineup on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves, and promptly belted two homers off starter RA Dickey. 

It was a welcome sight for the Nationals, who continue to dominate in the NL East. 

Zimmerman entered Tuesday's action having put up a .365 average with 17 homers and 49 RBI. It's the best stretch of action we've seen from the veteran at the plate over the course of his long career. 

Tuesday's performance, especially from a fantasy perspective, was not too much of a surprise. Zimmerman headed into the game having posted a career .333 average in 36 at-bats against Dickey. Needless to say, those numbers took a dramatic jump here. 

The long-term impact of Tuesday's performance is well known. Three games off did not slow down Zimmerman's bat at all. That's good news for those of us who have invested in him in the fake baseball world.
