As the red-hot Washington Nationals continue their early-season power surge, they will do so Thursday afternoon without power-hitting first baseman. Ryan Zimmerman is being given a routine day off against the Colorado Rockies and rookie starter Antonio Senzatela.
Starting in Zimmerman's stead at first will be veteran Adam Lind, who is hitting at a solid .300 clip early this season.
Zimmerman has been among the biggest surprises on a Nationals squad that enters Thursday's action with a 15-6 mark. He's hitting .387 with eight homers 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and 15 extra-base hits.
