The flu is never fun for anyone. Whether you're a top athlete or just the average person, flu-like symptoms turn a great day into a downer. DFS owners and Mets fans will have to watch the New York Mets take the field on Sunday without slugger Yoenis Cespedes on Friday due to flu-like symptoms.
Cespedes played through it on Thursday night and hit two home runs, but that game turned into a 16-inning battle. As a result, New York opted to give its star bat a rest and let him come back stronger on Saturday.
In Cespedes' absence, the door opens for Michael Conforto to slide into the lineup. The talented, young outfielder makes for a nice value, DFS play against righty Edinson Volquez. It's a one-day stint though, so season-long owners shouldn't get too excited about Conforto receiving another start this week.
Cespedes, who leads baseball with six home runs, should be right back in the heart of the Mets batting order tomorrow.
