The injury prone Jed Lowrie fresh off a season in which he played in 154 games is ready to repeat. The 29 year-old has been in the Majors for six seasons and 2013 was the first year that he played in over 100 games. He is hoping that the injuries are going to stay in the past and can build off of his 2013 campaign. Last season Lowrie batted .290 with 15 home runs, 75 RBIs and 80 runs scored. These are pretty solid numbers for right handed shortstop who set career highs in every major category except home runs.
As far as fantasy baseball is considered, Lowrie could be a very good late round option. He hits for decent power when he’s healthy and scores a decent amount of runs. He is not going to be a make or break player on your team but he could definitely help. The fact that he is playing for a good Oakland Athletics team helps as well. They have pretty good offense that will give him a lot of RBI and scoring chances. In fact, Lowrie could be entering the prime of his career. As long as he stays healthy he could be a nice side piece for your team.
