The Los Angeles Dodgers and their unlimited (almost literally) resources have apparently cornered the Chase Utley trade market. According to CBS Sports MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to trade the former All-Star to the Dodgers: 

Per the report: 

"The Phillies have agreed to trade veteran second baseman Chase Utley plus $2 million to the Dodgers in exchange for two minor-leaguers, sources said. The deal has not been signed yet, though both sides have agreed to the trade."

This will end what has been one of the most successful careers for a Phillies player in the modern history of the franchise. In 12-plus seasons with the team, Utley earned six All-Star appareances and helped lead Philadelphia to five division titles, two NL titles and a World Series championship. 

Seemingly on his way out of Philadelphia for the better part of the past year, the 36-year-old Utley has struggled big time this year. He's hitting just .217 with five homers and 30 RBI's. Though, the borderline Hall of Famer has tallied .484 batting average in eight games this month. 

With the likes of Howie Kendrick and Enrique Hernandez already etched in stone at second base, Utley won't be an every-day starter for the Dodgers. He, however, adds yet another dimension to one of the deepest teams in baseball. The veteran can play first, second and third. 

While there's no announcement about who is heading to Philadelphia in the deal, Heyman indicates that it's going to be two mid-level prospects. 

Utley is set to become a free agent following this season.
