Top Milwaukee Brewers prospect Lewis Brinson will make his Major League debut Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He will man left field and bat lead off after dominating Triple-A leading to this weekend's call-up.
Brinson, an original first-round pick of the Texas Rangers back in 2012, Brinson was hitting .312 with six homers, 25 RBI and 41 runs scored at Colorado Springs.
He entered the season as Milwaukee's top prospect and is considered a potential five-tool talent. By having Brinson bat lead off in his debut, the Brewers are obviously showing their hand here. They expect him to be a mainstay at the top of the team's lineup for the long term.
From a fantasy perspective, we should take a wait-and-see approach. Going from the hitter-friendly PCL (Triple-A) to the Majors can be a relatively big learning curve. But the talent is surely there.
