Rockies at Giants
The Colorado Rockies went to great lengths in a bid to end losing streak last time out, to no avail. Colorado looks to halt its skid at seven games when it visits the San Francisco Giants on Saturday for the third contest of their four-game series.
The Rockies allowed a two-run lead to disappear Friday, then went 18 innings before dropping a 3-2 decision to the Giants. Trevor Story recorded three of Colorado's 11 hits in the marathon while Ian Desmond notched two and drove in a run as the team suffered its 11th loss in 12 contests. Brandon Belt was a catalyst for San Francisco, leading off the 18th with a double and scoring on Erik Kratz's bases-loaded grounder. Belt finished with two of the eight hits recorded by the Giants, who have won back-to-back contests after losing six of their previous eight.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies LH Kyle Freeland (1-2, 5.40 ERA) vs. Giants LH Madison Bumgarner (0-2, 3.32)
Freeland is coming off an outing to forget as he surrendered a career-high seven runs on seven hits and four walks over five innings in a loss to Atlanta on Monday. The 25-year-old native of Denver has lost back-to-back starts after winning nine straight decisions dating back to last season. Freeland has had success against San Francisco in his career, going 5-2 with a 2.61 ERA in eight turns.
Bumgarner also is in a funk as he has yielded five runs over six innings in each of his last two starts. The 29-year-old native of North Carolina, who is seeking his first win of 2019, escaped with a no-decision against San Diego on Monday but took the loss versus the Dodgers in Los Angeles six days earlier despite the fact all the runs were unearned. Bumgarner is 13-8 with two complete games, one shutout and a 3.04 ERA in 30 career turns versus Colorado.
WALK-OFFS
1. Rockies 1B Daniel Murphy, who hasn't played since March 29, is not expected to undergo surgery on his broken index finger.

3. Colorado signed OF Craig Gentry, who spent last season with Baltimore and has appeared in 601 major-league games over the last 10 campaigns, to a minor-league contract.
