Mets at Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies have been either very stingy or extremely generous of late, allowing just one run in each of their last two wins and a total of 35 in the past three losses. Philadelphia hopes the former version of the team shows up on Monday as it begins a three-game home series against the New York Mets.
The Phillies outlasted Miami 3-1 in 14 innings on Sunday to take two of three in the road series. Jean Segura belted a two-run homer to snap the tie and right-handed reliever Victor Arano struck out all six batters he faced in earning the victory for Philadelphia, which has been outscored 25-7 in its last two contests at home. New York began its 10-game road trip with a pair of victories in Atlanta but settled for a split of the four-game series after reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom produced his second straight sub-par performance in Sunday's 7-3 setback. Rookie Pete Alonso has hit safely in 11 of his first 15 major-league contests after going 4-for-14 in the set versus the Braves.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets RH Noah Syndergaard (1-1, 4.74 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Aaron Nola (1-0, 6.46)
Syndergaard picked up his first win of the season on Wednesday despite surrendering four runs over seven innings against Minnesota. The 26-year-old Texan actually pitched better in his previous outing on April 4, when he yielded two runs and one hit in six frames of a loss to Washington. Syndergaard, who has registered 20 strikeouts while issuing only two walks in 19 innings this season, is 5-3 with a 3.23 ERA in 10 career starts versus Philadelphia.
Nola was impressive against Atlanta in his season debut, save for the five walks he issued, but struggled in back-to-back starts versus Washington. The 25-year-old native of Louisiana gave up 11 runs on 12 hits - five homers - and three free passes over 9 1/3 frames in those two outings but escaped with no-decisions. Nola hopes to bounce back when he faces the Mets, against whom he is 6-1 with a 3.35 ERA in nine career starts.

3. Philadelphia INF-OF Scott Kingery, who has begun the season in a utility role, has gone 8-for-16 at the plate.
