PITCHING MATCHUP: Indians RH Carlos Carrasco (1-2, 12.60 ERA) vs. Mariners RH Erik Swanson (0-0, 9.00)

Carrasco only recorded two outs in his last turn as he gave up six runs and six hits in a loss to Kansas City. The 32-year-old registered 12 strikeouts over five innings in his lone win on April 6, when he gave up two runs and six hits against Toronto. Carrasco is 4-3 with a 4.10 ERA in eight career appearances (seven starts) against the Mariners and has served up two homers to Bruce (3-for-9).

Swanson will make his first major-league start as he fills the rotation spot of the injured Wade LeBlanc (oblique). The 25-year-old Swanson was acquired in the offseason trade in which James Paxton was sent to the New York Yankees. Swanson gave up two runs and three hits over two innings in his big-league debut against Kansas City on Thursday.
