Indians at Astros

Carlos Correa looks to extend his hitting streak to 10 contests on Sunday night, when the Houston Astros attempt to gain a split of a four-game series against the visiting Cleveland Indians. Correa belted a two-run homer on Saturday and Tony Kemp launched a walk-off blast in the 10th inning as the Astros posted a 4-3 victory after dropping the first two games of the series between the 2018 division winners.

Correa has gone 11-for-39 with four homers and eight RBIs during his hitting streak, but Houston dropped five of seven games before grinding out the victory on Saturday despite managing just five hits. Wade Miley, who is 1-3 in six career starts against the Indians, will try to make it two in a row for the Astros while Cleveland's Carlos Carrasco takes the mound in the series finale sporting a 3.45 ERA in eight all-time appearances (seven starts) versus Houston. The Indians have won seven of their last 11 contests despite suffering the setback on Saturday. Shortstop Francisco Lindor did not start Saturday’s contest but delivered a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to give him six RBIs in seven games since coming off the disabled list last weekend.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Indians RH Carlos Carrasco (2-2, 6.00 ERA) vs. Astros LH Wade Miley (1-2, 3.58)

Carrasco suffered a bruised left leg that limited him to four innings in start against Miami on Tuesday, but he is expected be ready to vie for his third straight scoreless outing. The 32-year-old Venezuelan, who has struck out 33 batters and walked five in 21 frames this season, allowed five hits over 11 scoreless innings in his last two starts. Jose Altuve is 10-for-23 with a homer versus Carrasco, who split two decisions against Houston last year.

Miley has posted quality starts in his last two trips to the mound but finished with a loss and a no-decision as he permitted a total of five runs over 12 innings. The 32-year-old native of Louisiana, who has registered 18 strikeouts and five walks in 27 2/3 frames this year, has not allowed more than three runs in any contest. Carlos Santana (6-for-11), Carlos Gonzalez (9-for-23, homer) and Lindor (5-for-10) have given Miley trouble.

WALK-OFFS

1. Santana has gone 1-for-23 in his last six games to drop his batting average to .302.

2. Kemp was just 1-for-16 over a six-game stretch before hitting his second home run of the season on Saturday.

3. Gonzalez has collected four hits in his last two contests and is one double away from 300 for his career.
