Angels at Tigers

Andrelton Simmons has enjoyed his limited opportunities at Comerica Park and will try to lead his Los Angeles Angels to a second straight win over the host Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. Simmons had a pair of RBI singles in five at-bats in Tuesday's series-opening 5-2 win, and the slick-fielding shortstop is batting .365 in 14 career games in Detroit.

David Fletcher added a two hits and an RBI as the Angels bounced back from a pair of losses to Houston in Mexico. Tyler Skaggs gets the nod for Los Angeles on Wednesday opposite Tigers lefty Matthew Boyd, who has lasted at least six innings in six consecutive appearances. Boyd will hope for a bit more offensive support after his teammates were held to five hits by four Angels pitchers in the series opener. Miguel Cabrera had two of the five hits and is 14-for-35 with seven RBIs over his last eight games.
