Yankees at Royals
The New York Yankees will try to cap a perfect seven-game road trip when they finish their three-game series against the Kansas City Royals on Sunday. After rain washed out Friday's opener, the Yankees took both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday to improve to 17-7 on the road while clinching their seventh consecutive series win.
New York recorded 10 hits in both victories, with Austin Romine collecting three in a 7-3 triumph in the nightcap. The Yankees have won seven games in a row, 11 of their last 12 and 16 of their last 19 to build a season-high three-game lead atop the American League East. Domingo German, who leads the majors with nine victories, will try to extend his personal winning streak to seven in a row when he starts the finale for the Yankees. Losers of six of their last seven at home, the Royals counter with Danny Duffy on Sunday.

German kept alive his winning streak by allowing two earned runs in five innings at Baltimore on Tuesday. It marked the ninth time in 10 starts this year the 26-year-old yielded three runs or fewer. German's lone loss in 2019 came against the Royals at home last month, although he held them to three runs in six frames while registering a season-high nine strikeouts.
Duffy has earned the win in each of his last three outings after yielding one run over six innings on the road against the Los Angeles Angels last Sunday. The 30-year-old Californian has posted a 5.54 ERA in 10 career matchups (eight starts) against the Yankees. Aaron Hicks is 5-for-13 with three home runs against Duffy in his career.
