Dodgers at Diamondbacks

Hyun-Jin Ryu looks to win his sixth straight start when the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game series. The South Korean, who won National League Pitcher of the Month honors, has allowed just two runs and 24 hits in 37 2/3 innings during that stretch.

Ryu was won six consecutive decisions and is unbeaten over his last seven turns. The Dodgers will be aiming to extend their winning streak to seven games after Corey Seager belted a three-run homer in Monday's series-opening 3-1 victory. Arizona recorded just three hits in the opener as it suffered its sixth setback in eight games. Christian Walker homered for the third time in five games and is 9-for-21 over his last six contests.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Hyun-Jin Ryu (8-1, 1.48 ERA) vs. RH Taylor Clarke (1-1, 4.67)

Ryu blanked the New York Mets on four hits over 7 2/3 innings in his last turn to continue his stellar work. The 32-year-old has registered 69 strikeouts and issued only five walks in 73 innings and has yet to give up more than two runs in a game. Ryu defeated the Diamondbacks on March 28, when he gave up one run and four hits with eight strikeouts in six frames to improve to 4-3 with a 3.59 ERA in 14 career starts against them.

Clarke will be making his fourth major-league start as he comes off his first rough one. The 26-year-old allowed five runs and four hits in two innings during a no-decision against Colorado in a game he will remember as he belted his first career homer. Clarke gave up five runs in 12 1/3 frames over his first two starts, losing to Tampa Bay while beating San Francisco.

WALK-OFFS

1. Dodgers 3B Justin Turner (hamstring) started his first game since May 29 and went 2-for-4.

2. Diamondbacks LF David Peralta (shoulder) was hitless in four at-bats after missing the previous 11 games, and his activation from the 10-day injured list prompted the team to option RHP Stefan Crichton to Triple-A Reno.

3. Seager has recorded four homers over the last eight games in which he received an at-bat.
