Pirates at Marlins
The Pittsburgh Pirates took out their frustrations on the Miami Marlins' pitching staff in the opener of a three-game series Friday night. The Pirates will try to build off the series-opening rout when the teams continue their weekend set Saturday.
Colin Moran homered and drove in five runs and Bryan Reynolds went 4-for-5 with three runs scored as Pittsburgh snapped a seven-game slide with an 11-0 triumph Friday night, recording a season high-tying 18 hits. Steven Brault and three relievers combined to scatter nine hits in the shutout for the Pirates, who gave up 54 runs during the seven-game losing streak. Dario Agrazal will make his major league debut when he starts Saturday's tilt for the Pirates. The Marlins, who have lost seven of their last eight, counter with fellow right-hander Pablo Lopez.
