Orioles at Athletics
The Baltimore Orioles attempt to halt their losing streak at six games when they visit the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game series. Baltimore held an early lead in Monday's series opener but squandered it en route to a 3-2 defeat.
The Orioles managed only three singles in Monday's setback, with Pedro Severino recording one and scoring a run. Oakland was held to five hits - three of which went for extra bases - as it improved to 2-2 on its 10-game homestand. Marcus Semien continued his torrid pace, registering a double and drawing two walks while scoring a pair of runs. The 28-year-old shortstop enters Tuesday with a 14-game hitting streak that includes five multi-hit efforts. Matt Olson also has been hot, hitting safely in five of his last six games - including Monday's win in which he doubled and drove in a run.
