Mariners at Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers went through a rough stretch with losses in seven of eight but began to turn things around with a pair of wins over the weekend. The Brewers will try to carry that momentum into the next series when they host the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday in the opener of a three-game interleague set.
Milwaukee did not lose much ground in the National League Central during its swoon after bashing its way to wins over the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday and Sunday. "Every team is going to struggle," third baseman Travis Shaw, who broke out of a slump with a homer Sunday, told reporters. "There is no panic in this room. I'm sure there was panic outside the room, but to think we weren't going to go through a stretch like that is kind of absurd in this long of a season. But we rebounded well these last two games. We're going into the off-day feeling good." The Mariners are feeling pretty good as well after averaging eight runs during a stretch of four wins in five games. The Brewers will try to slow that offense with right-hander Zach Davies while the Mariners counter with lefty Marco Gonzales.
