Dodgers at Diamondbacks
The Los Angeles Dodgers look to record their eighth victory in nine games when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday afternoon for the finale of their three-game series. The Dodgers are a major league-best 55-26 at the midway point of the season and on pace to record the fourth 100-win campaign since the franchise relocated from Brooklyn for the 1958 season.
Chris Taylor delivered a tiebreaking RBI double in the sixth inning while Enrique Hernandez and Justin Turner homered as the Dodgers prevailed on Tuesday after losing the series opener. Rookie Alex Verdugo continues to make progress as he has gone 13-for-36 during his eight-game hitting streak. Arizona's Ketel Marte remained scorching hot as he went 2-for-4 on Tuesday for his eighth consecutive multi-hit performance, snapping the franchise record of seven previously held by Luis Gonzalez. Marte is 21-for-33 during the streak for the Diamondbacks, who have dropped seven of their last nine games.
