Mets at Marlins

The New York Mets will try to pick up a series win on the road for the first time since April 1-3 when they take on the Miami Marlins in the rubber match of a three-game set Sunday afternoon. After dropping the series opener, the Mets used a strong start from Noah Syndergaard and a clutch two-run homer from Robinson Cano to take Saturday's matchup 4-2.

New York is 0-10-3 in its last 13 road series since it swept three from the Marlins in Miami to begin April. Michael Conforto also went deep for the Mets on Saturday as the club extended its home run streak on the road to 10 games. All-Star Jacob deGrom has a string of seven straight quality starts going and will try to extend the run when he starts the finale for New York. Sandy Alcantara counters for the Marlins, who had won four straight against their National League East rivals prior to Saturday's loss.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets RH Jacob deGrom (4-7, 3.27 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Sandy Alcantara (4-8, 3.82)

After posting a 2.70 ERA in June, deGrom opened July with seven innings of two-run ball in a no-decision against Philadelphia on July 5. He has 61 strikeouts against only seven walks over his last seven starts. The 31-year-old Florida native limited the Marlins to one run in 14 innings over their first two meetings this season before giving up a season-high seven runs (six earned) in five frames at Miami on May 17.

Alcantara lost his last two starts before the break - both against Washington - while giving up eight runs and 11 hits with five walks over 11 2/3 innings. He posted his only career shutout while striking out eight and yielding two hits against the Mets at home May 19. Alcantara has a 2.14 ERA in five career starts versus New York but has had some issues in a limited sample size against deGrom, who is 2-for-3 with a double against him.

WALK-OFFS

1. Mets INF/OF Jeff McNeil recorded two hits Saturday and is 16-for-39 over a nine-game stretch.

2. Marlins RHP Austin Brice owns a scoreless streak of 11 2/3 innings.

3. New York SS Amed Rosario is batting .284 on the road and .234 at home.
