Blue Jays at Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox have seen their pitching become rather generous of late, with the opposition scoring 36 runs to hand the reigning World Series champions losses in three of their last four games. The Red Sox will look to get it gear on Wednesday when they play the third contest of their four-game series against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays.
Xander Bogaerts fell a triple shy of a cycle and Mookie Betts added three hits of his own, but Boston saw new acquisition Andrew Cashner struggle in his debut during Tuesday's 10-4 setback against the Blue Jays. Bogaerts and Betts have done their best on the offensive end, with the former recording at least one hit, one run and one RBI in eight straight games while the latter has crossed the plate in each of his last 11 contests. Toronto's Lourdes Gurriel Jr. also collected three hits on Tuesday after going 4-for-29 in his previous in his last seven games. Justin Smoak went deep among his two hits on Tuesday to boost his home run total to four against the Red Sox this season.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Blue Jays RH Aaron Sanchez (3-13, 6.22 ERA) vs. Red Sox LH Eduardo Rodriguez (10-4, 4.43)
Sanchez sustained his ninth straight loss and fell to 0-12 in his last 14 trips to the mound on Friday after allowing four runs on seven hits over five innings of a 4-0 setback at the New York Yankees. The 27-year-old owns a pair of no-decisions against Boston this season, permitting one earned run in five innings on April 11 before yielding two more in six frames on May 22. Sanchez kept the Red Sox in the park in both meetings and has flustered Rafael Devers (2-for-14) and Brock Holt (3-for-16) in their careers.
Rodriguez improved to 4-0 in his last six starts on Friday after allowing one run on five hits over seven innings of an 8-1 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 26-year-old sports a 4-1 mark with a 3.95 ERA in nine home starts this season and will aim to avenge a porous outing in Toronto on May 21. Rodriguez fell to 3-4 with a 4.80 ERA in 13 career games versus the Blue Jays after surrendering three homers and six runs in five innings of a 10-3 setback.
