Yankees at Orioles

After concluding a four-game sweep of a division rival at home, the New York Yankees begin a seven-game road trip against two others when they play the first of three against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday. New York, which also faces Toronto on its trek, has won five straight overall following Sunday's 7-4 triumph over Boston.

Aaron Judge belted a solo homer - his first shot since July 19 - in the first inning and Gio Urshela ignited a six-run third with a two-run blast for the Yankees, who maintained their eight-game lead over second-place Tampa Bay in the American League East. Urshela is riding an eight-game hitting streak during which he has gone 14-for-29 with two homers and five RBIs while Cameron Maybin has hit safely in five of his seven contests since being activated from the injured list after recording a pair of doubles on Sunday. Trey Mancini recorded two hits and drove in a pair of runs as Baltimore edged the Blue Jays 6-5 on Sunday to earn a split of their four-game set. Mancini has collected nine RBIs in his last five contests for the Orioles, who have served up multiple homers in a major-league record-tying nine consecutive games.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees RH Masahiro Tanaka (7-6, 4.78 ERA) vs. Orioles RH Gabriel Ynoa (1-6, 5.55)

After being torched for 12 runs over 3 1/3 innings en route to a loss at Boston in his previous start, Tanaka worked only four frames in a no-decision against Arizona on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks while throwing 82 pitches. The 30-year-old native of Japan has surrendered 26 runs over 16 1/3 frames while going 0-2 in his last four turns on the road. Tanaka has permitted two earned runs over 11 2/3 innings while winning one of his two outings versus Baltimore this year and is 5-3 with a 3.44 ERA in 14 career starts against the club.

Ynoa will make his eighth start of the season and first since the end of June after eight consecutive appearances out of the bullpen. The 26-year-old Dominican suffered a hard-luck loss in his turn against Cleveland on June 30 as he allowed only one run and six hits over 5 1/3 innings. Ynoa has faced New York just once this year, a relief outing on May 22 in which he gave up one run and three hits over 2 1/3 frames.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Yankees placed OF Aaron Hicks (elbow) on the 10-day injured list and activated LHP J.A. Happ, who notched the win on Sunday despite yielding four runs over 5 2/3 innings, from the paternity list.

2. Baltimore optioned RHP Dillon Tate to Triple-A Norfolk after the 25-year-old gave a run on two hits and a walk in one inning of relief on Sunday.

3. New York C Gary Sanchez (groin) is expected to begin a rehab assignment during the week.
