Diamondbacks at Rockies
The Arizona Diamondbacks are back above .500 and part of the mix in the National League wild-card derby. Arizona looks for its seventh win in 10 games when it visits the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game series.
Nick Ahmed, Carson Kelly and Jake Lamb all went deep during a fourth-run sixth inning in Monday's series opener as the Diamondbacks prevailed 8-6. The comeback victory was Arizona's 27th of the season as it climbed within 2 1/2 games of St. Louis for the second wild-card spot, with three teams between them. Colorado continued its decline by losing for the 11th time in 15 contests and 20th in their last 27. Trevor Story and Raimel Tapia each registered three hits in the opener.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks RH Zac Gallen (2-3, 2.40 ERA) vs. Rockies RH Jon Gray (10-8, 4.06)
Gallen allowed just one hit over five scoreless innings against Philadelphia on Wednesday in his debut with Arizona. The 24-year-old recently was acquired from Miami in a deal for infield prospect Jazz Chisholm. Gallen went 1-3 with a 2.72 ERA in seven starts for the Marlins prior to the trade.
Gray lost to San Diego in his last start as he gave up seven runs - three earned - and six hits over 5 2/3 innings. The 27-year-old has gone just 1-3 over his last seven turns and worked fewer than six frames five times during that stretch. Gray fell to the Diamondbacks on July 6, when he permitted three runs and eight hits over five innings, and is 3-4 with a 4.77 ERA in 10 career starts versus Arizona.
WALK-OFFS
1. Diamondbacks LF David Peralta (neck) wasn't in Monday's starting lineup but grounded out as a pinch-hitter later in the contest.
2. Colorado OF Yonathan Daza (ankle) was able to pinch-hit in the series opener, flying out one day after fouling a ball off himself.
3. Arizona RHP Luke Weaver (forearm), who has been sidelined since late May, will throw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.
