Padres at Giants

The San Francisco Giants used a 13-hit attack to end their three-game losing streak and look to make it back-to-back wins when they host the San Diego Padres on Saturday. After beginning its six-game homestand with three straight setbacks, San Francisco recorded six extra-base hits en route to an 8-3 triumph on Friday.

Brandon Belt and Buster Posey notched three hits apiece while Evan Longoria went 2-for-5 with two RBIs to extend his hitting streak to six games as the Giants remained seven games back in the National League wild-card race. Belt, who scored three times, launched a two-run homer in the first inning and added an RBI double in the eighth as he improved to 7-for-16 during his four-game hitting streak. Manny Machado registered two of the team's seven hits on Friday as San Diego lost for the seventh time in 10 contests. Machado doubled and scored in the ninth inning after belting a solo shot in the fourth, leaving him two away from his fifth consecutive 30-homer season.
