Angels at White Sox
Even with superstar center fielder Mike Trout out of the mix, the Los Angeles Angels continue to dominate the Chicago White Sox. The Angels will try to polish off their second straight sweep in Chicago when the teams conclude a three-game series Sunday afternoon.
Trout (toe) left early in Friday's comeback 5-4 win and served only as a pinch hitter - drawing an intentional walk in his lone plate appearance - Saturday when Los Angeles picked up an 8-7 victory. Shohei Ohtani carried the load with a three-run homer and a two-run double as the Angels improved to 10-1 in the last 11 meetings with the White Sox and 18-6 in the past 24. Included in that run are five consecutive victories at Chicago, which saw its top three hitters combine for six hits and six RBIs in Saturday's loss. Trout could return Sunday to provide some support for starter Jaime Barria, who opposes rookie Dylan Cease for the White Sox.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels RH Jaime Barria (4-7, 6.27 ERA) vs. White Sox RH Dylan Cease (3-7, 6.75)
Barria has yet to produce a quality start in 10 tries after giving up five runs over four innings at Oakland on Tuesday. Sunday will mark his sixth consecutive start on the road, where he is 2-6 with an 8.31 ERA. The 23-year-old took the loss after giving up four runs in five innings against the White Sox in their lone meeting last year.
Cease struck out a career-high 11 over 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision at Cleveland on Tuesday. He has allowed at least one home run in each of his 11 starts and opponents are hitting a healthy .281 against the 23-year-old. Cease gave up five runs in five innings of a loss at Los Angeles last month.
