A day after the Philadelphia 76ers received some bad news after rookie Ben Simmons underwent a CT scan on his foot, 76ers General Manager Bryan Colangelo announced this morning that 1st overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, would miss the rest of the season as his foot still hasn't healed sufficiently.
Simmons, who the 76ers drafted with hopes of being an immediate contributor alongside Joel Embiid and setting the tone for the future, never made his NBA debut this season.
On Oct. 4, Philadelphia announced its 20-year-old forward needed surgery to repair an acute Jones' fracture in his right foot. While Simmons showed signs of progress and optimism for a return this season existed, CT scans revealed there isn't full healing. Doctors and the team determined the best course of action was to hold out Simmons for the remainder of the NBA season. Colangelo said Simmons will undergo another CT scan in a month.
With Nerlens Noel out of town and SImmons confirmed to be out for the season, Dario Saric should see heavy minutes going forward and should be owned in all fantasy leagues going forward.
