Daily FanDuel Basketball Picks: November 12th, 2016

Top Pick

Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors ($7,800)

Lowry is the fourth-ranked point guard for this evening, however, I think he will have the biggest night as his overall production is trending up. He's averaging 43 FFPG over the last three contests after only eclipsing 40 fantasy points once before this season. DeMar DeRozan has become a dominant scorer, allowing Lowry to increase his APG. The issue with Lowry is his scoring, He's dropped four points of his per game average last year, but he's contributing enough in all other categories to be a supreme fantasy option. Chris Paul and most Clippers players may get some rest once they start blowing out the Timberwolves and John Wall's turnovers are still concerning. Lowry is the sneaky top pick.

Value Pick

Eric Bledsoe, Phoenix Suns ($7,700)

While averaging 35 FFPG over the season, Bledsoe has been one of the quiet fantasy stars. He's always in the running for a top five season for fantasy guards, but his health continually stifles his progress. He's $217 per point, making him one of the best values on the night considering his upside seventh-worst ranked defense against opposing point guards.

Must Avoid

Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies ($7,100)

The match-up alone is cause for concern this evening. The Grizz take on the third-best defense against point guards in the Bucks. Conley is having a decent season, but at $228 per point, he isn't worth the salary. He's averaging 31 FFPG but hasn't exploded onto the scene just yet. It's best to wait for him to heat up.

Shooting Guard

Top Pick

James Harden Houston Rockets ($11,500)

"The Beard" is off to the best start of his career as the official point guard of the Rockets. He's averaging 51.5 FFPG and even with this massive salary attached to him, he's actually a relatively good value compared to other shooting guards. Sure, he has to deal with the Spurs, but if anyone is exempt from bad match-ups it's Harden.

Value Pick

Avery Bradley, Boston Celtics ($6,900)

Bradley has been a fantasy revelation this season, and suprisingly has buoyed his value do to his rebounding. He leads the Celtics in rebounding with 8.1 per game which is absolutely astounding for a 6'2'' guard. He's averaging 19 PPG, 4 APG, and 1 SPG on top of his incredible rebound totals. He's pushing top-twenty value in standard leagues and is easily becoming one of the best values on most nights at the shooting guard position.

Must Avoid

Zach LaVine, Minnesota Timberwolves ($6,200)

LaVine may feel like the "sexy" pick to make tonight, but don't be foolish. He's extremely talented, but his game logs show a story of inconsistency. A young guard like him isn't to be trusted against one of the best defenses and all-around teams in the league. The Clippers hold shooting guards to to 26.8 FFPG this season.

Small Forward

Top Pick

Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs ($8,900)

Leonard is going to enjoy playing the third-worst defense against small forwards this evening. He's averaging a 39 FFPG, but has failed to meet that in two out of three games. In a way, I think that's a good thing for his value tonight in game against a conference rival. He's not going to let a few mediocre outings get in the way of a top performance tonight.

Value Pick

Otto Porter, Washington Wizards ($6,500)

At 23 FFPG, this salary seems outrageous, but if you've been watching the Wiz of late you'll know that Porter is trending upward. The most important factor in his fantasy ascension is Bradley Beal's status. He's out for this evening which boosts Porter's already growing value. Over the last 20 days, he's averaged nearly 32 FFPG which only proves his positive trend. Don't pay attention to his massive $278 per fantasy point, that's taking into account his very slow start to the season.

Must Avoid

Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks ($7,700)

Melo was ejected from last night's contest which skews his fantasy stats a bit. His rebounds and assists have taken a hit this year, but he's still scoring consistently. Unfortunately for him, he faces the third-best defense in the league.

Power Forward

Top Pick

Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans ($11,600)

45.5 FFPG is nothing to scoff at when you're surrounded by an abyss of talent. Davis is literally carrying the Pelicans every single game and will have to do so once again tonight against the Lakers. He has arguably the highest ceiling out of all fantasy players and is an obvious top play

Value Pick

Markieff Morris, Washington Wizards ($5,400)

With Bradley Beal sidelined, Keef went off last night for 30 fantasy points and could easily do so again tonight. At $213 per fantasy point, he's a great value this evening. He's averaging 25 FFPG and is easily in for a bump without the Wizard's second-best scorer in the lineup. The Wizards face the eight-worst defense in the league against power forwards. All arrows point towards a nice fantasy outing.

Center

Top Pick

Dwight Howard Atlanta Hawks ($8,100)

D12 has the chance to feast on the third-worst defense against centers. I must be honest, I thought shipping Al Horford and Jeff Teague out of Atlanta was only going to hurt the Hawks. In reality, it's freed up Paul Millsap and allowed D12 to look semi-dominant this year. He's averaging 31 FFPG, but over the last 20 days he's averaging 37 FFPG. Howard is always dangerous because he's capable of providing owners with a dud, but tonight looks to be safe.

Value Pick

DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers ($6,700)

DJ is not having a great season, but he's due for a big game and could get one against the Timberwolves who give up the most fantasy points to opposing centers. He's coming of a double-double last night and still is ranked top six in RPG. All he needs to do is start scoring more. Surprisingly enough, his usage rate is actually higher than last year, he's just not converting at an efficient rate to increase his PPG. Tonight could be a turning point for the Clippers anchor.
