A day without basketball led me to a day of playing daily fantasy baseball; thank goodness NBA is back tonight! Eight days left in the regular season and six games on the schedule tonight. If you have not signed up yet for FanDuel.com, stop missing out and click the link to the right. This fabulous link will also give you a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit at FanDuel.com, sweet deal. There is plenty of value tonight with all of the injuries, and knowing the end of the NBA season we will see some scratches. My biggest word of advice tonight is playing it safe, Game Time Decision means not in my lineup.
Point Guard:
Star – Ricky Rubio, $7,100: You can tell you are approaching the end of the NBA season when Rubio is making one of the top plays of the day. Since a 41.3 fantasy point performance on 3/23 versus the Suns Rubio has posted solid games in all but two games in ridiculously tough matchups versus the Spurs and Grizzlies. Tonight he gets a Spurs team without Tony Parker.
Stud – Ray McCallum, $5,600: Pretty easy call on McCallum tonight. Without Isaiah Thomas in the Kings rotation he has been an absolute stud. As long as Thomas remains out, which he should, McCallum will make a solid play.
Scrub – Patty Mills, $5,400: Without Parker in the rotation for the Spurs today Mills will have a green light to score. When Mills has a green light to score he puts up big fantasy performances as he has proven multiple other times this NBA season.
Shooting Guard:
Star – James Harden $10,100: There is little doubt that the Rockets will trounce the Lakers tonight, but before that blowout happens the starters must score some serious fantasy points. If Dwight Howard is out once again tonight I am quite ecstatic about playing Harden, if Howard plays I am still excited you just must temper your expectations on Harden’s upside.
Stud – Alec Burks, $5,700: In his four games since returning from a three game absence he has more then valued in all but his first game back. It is a bit tough to trust him in 50/50 play but his upside for tournaments is outstanding.
Scrub - Kyle Korver, $5,000: Korver is back to playing 30+ minutes a night after his lengthy injury stint and has posted 20+ fantasy points in his last two games. The Pistons shooting guard defense gets worse by the night and they are the second worst team in the NBA in defensive efficiency versus the shooting guard position over the last ten games played.
Small Forward:
Stud – LeBron James, $10,400: When looking at the price tag of $11,900 for Kevin Durant it makes James look like a steal tonight. James will have little issue dominating the Nets tonight and when expecting around 50 fatnasy points out of either player I will gladly take the $1,500 discount.
Stud – Corey Brewer, $5,000: With the Timberwolves missing both Kevin Martin and Chase Budinger it opens up a whole bunch of offense production for Brewer. The matchup is obviously not ideal but the extra minutes will help him value tonight.
Scrub - Robbie Hummel, $3,600: Easily my favorite value play tonight with both Martin and Budinger out. Hummel is $100 over minimum price and scored 23.2 fantasy points last game filling in for the injured players. He looks probable to be the starter tonight as well which would only increase his value.
Power Forward:
Star – Greg Monroe, $7,800: I give Monroe the slight edge over the similarly priced Dirk Nowitzki tonight simply for the strength of matchup. Monroe has played great versus the undersized and injury riddles Hawks this season averaging over a double double per game versus them this season.
Stud – Jordan Hill, $6,000: The Lakers are going to be without Chris Kaman and Pau Gasol tonight meaning no guessing games on Lakers’ Coach Mike D’Antoni’s rotation. Another night of big minutes for Hill will be another night of big production.
Scrub - Terrence Jones, $5,900: Jones is clearly over the illness that was bothering him last week and his price still remains a bit deflated. He gets a big increase in value if Howard sits tonight, but should be easy value either way versus the abysmal Lakers.
Center:
Star – Andre Drummond, $7,900: The last two games Drummond has played 40+ minutes leading to two games of 43+ fantasy points in a row. A fantastic matchup tonight versus a Hawks team that is currently starting Pero Antic should be easily exploited by the Man Child.
Stud – Gorgui Dieng, $6,000: The Timberwolves will be without Nikola Pekovic tonight making Dieng a solid play. His price has risen but a $6,000 dollar price tag is still a discount for his recent production, and more importantly his upside.
Scrub – Robert Sacre $3,800: Similar to Hill, listed above, but with a bit less upside.
Good luck tonight. Be sure to follow both @eDraftSports and me @Cui2iousGeoi2ge
