Grizzlies at 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers matched a season worst for consecutive losses by going winless on a four-game road trip. The 76ers look to put their problems behind them when they host the fast-charging Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
The 76ers are just 8-11 since a 23-10 start and Thursday's 112-101 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks meant that all four setbacks on the trip were by double digits. Philadelphia made two deals prior to Thursday's trading deadline in which it added guard Alec Burks and forward Glenn Robinson III from the Golden State Warriors for three future second-round draft choices, and dealt forward James Ennis to the Orlando Magic for a second-round pick. The Grizzlies did a little revamping prior to the deadline by being parts of three deals and ended up with forwards Justise Winslow, Gorgui Dieng and Jordan Bell and guard Dion Waiters as the acquisitions. Winslow has played in just 11 games this season due to multiple injuries (primarily his back) while Waiters has played in just three games while serving multiple suspensions.

ABOUT THE GRIZZLIES (26-25): Memphis is one of the hottest teams in the NBA by winning 13 of its past 16 games but continues to keep its success in perspective. "It's one of those things where you just have to take the good and the bad but keep understanding that there's always more to be done," Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. told reporters. "We do a good job of knowing that." The Grizzlies also signed rising shooting guard Dillon Brooks (16.1 scoring average) to a three-year $35 million extension.
ABOUT THE 76ERS (31-21): Philadelphia shot 37.4 percent in the loss to the Bucks with big men Joel Embiid (6-of-26 shooting, 3-of-10 from 3-point range) and Al Horford (5-of-17, 5-of-12) both making less than 30 percent of their attempts. Forward Tobias Harris scored 25 points - Embiid had 19 and Horford tallied 15 - and made 5-of-6 from 3-point shots but was 10-of-23 overall. Point guard Ben Simmons was 5-of-6 shooting and nearly missed a triple-double by recording 11 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists.
