Nets at Pacers

THE STORY: At least one losing streak will end when the New Jersey Nets visit the Indiana Pacers on Thursday. The Nets have lost seven straight while the Pacers have dropped five in a row. The streaks are season highs and both teams lost Wednesday. New Jersey fell 105-100 at home to Memphis while Indiana dropped a 98-87 decision to Cleveland, a game that wasn't as close as the final score would indicate. The Pacers are playing their third game in as many nights.

ABOUT THE NETS (8-22): Will anyone in New Jersey notice when the team moves to Brooklyn next season? The Nets have lost nine of 10 and have one victory since Jan. 27. Charlotte and Washington are the only teams in the Eastern Conference with worse records. Deron Williams had a double-double with 26 points and 11 assists against Memphis. He's averaging 21.1 points and 8.5 assists. The Nets committed 19 turnovers - including six by rookie MarShon Brooks - on Wednesday.

ABOUT THE PACERS (17-12): Indiana was one of the league's biggest surprises until a week ago, but that's when the good times stopped. The Pacers have allowed an average of 102.2 points in the losing streak and trailed a struggling Cleveland team by double figures for most of Wednesday's game. Leading scorer Danny Granger, averaging 18 points, didn't play because of a sprained left ankle sustained Tuesday. Coach Frank Vogel said it's possible Granger will return against the Nets.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. After being blown out at home by Miami on Tuesday, the Pacers suffered another embarrassment. The teams spent the night at the same hotel in Cleveland. The Heat play the Cavaliers on Friday.

2. Indiana has won nine straight over New Jersey. The Pacers have won both meetings this season. The Nets haven't won in the series since Dec. 23, 2008.

3. Backup point guard Jordan Farmar, who averages 11.1 points, missed Wednesday's game with a strained right groin. The injury left New Jersey with only nine players.
