Pistons at Bulls

The Chicago Bulls will try to continue their dominance over Detroit when they host the Pistons on Wednesday. The Bulls have won 16 consecutive meetings, including 12 straight at home, and have outscored the Pistons by an average of 10.5 points during the streak. Detroit hasn't won at Chicago since Feb. 24, 2006.

The Bulls have won four of their last five and are coming off a 95-83 home win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. The Pistons have won two straight since returning from their trip to London, where they lost to the New York Knicks last week. They had six players score in double digits in a 105-90 win over Orlando on Tuesday but have struggled to a 4-14 road mark.

ABOUT THE PISTONS (16-25): Detroit has turned things around since its 0-8 start, and the improvement starts at the defensive end. The Pistons have held opponents to 90 points or less in 11 of their 16 wins. Detroit has one of the league's elite centers in Greg Monroe (15.4 points, 9.1 rebounds) and has its share of young talent to build around with second-year point guard Brandon Knight (13.9 points, 4.4 assists) and rookies Kyle Singler (8.5 points) and Andre Drummond (7.5 points, 7.4 rebounds).

ABOUT THE BULLS (24-16): Chicago is closer to getting star Derrick Rose back from knee surgery, as the point guard took on more contact in practice Tuesday. In the meantime, the Bulls have held their own, even with leading scorer Luol Deng (17.4 points, 6.4 rebounds) sidelined the past two games with a sore hamstring. Deng will be a game-time decision Wednesday. The Bulls are awfully tough in the post with Carlos Boozer (16.1 points, 10 rebounds) and Joakim Noah (12.2 points, 10.7 rebounds) manning the paint.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. The Bulls have won the last 39 games in which they scored at least 100 points, two shy of the NBA record set by San Antonio from 2003-05.

2. Detroit PF Jason Maxiell needs six points to reach 3,000 for his career and SF Tayshaun Prince needs to make four 3-pointers to reach 500 for his career.

3. Boozer has posted double-doubles in five of the past six games and 11 of the last 13.
