Pistons at Heat
The Miami Heat look to run their winning streak to 11 games when they host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. Miami trailed Charlotte by 14 in the fourth quarter Sunday before ultimately squeaking out a 99-98 win, thanks in part to three 3-pointers from Chris Bosh in the final 2:39. "He was on fire," forward LeBron James said of Bosh to the Sun-Sentinel. "He just kept that momentum."
Detroit snapped a two-game skid with a dominant performance over Philadelphia on Sunday. Andre Drummond set career highs with 31 points, 19 rebounds and six steals in the 115-100 win, prompting first-year Pistons coach Maurice Cheeks to admit he didn't expect this level of play this quickly from the second-year player. "Joe (Dumars) told me he was on the upswing like that," Cheeks told the Detroit Free Press. "I watched him a few times but I didn't know he was going to be as good as he is now."

ABOUT THE PISTONS (7-10): Drummond's output against the 76ers fell a single rebound short of the first 30-point, 20-rebound performance for a Detroit player since Dennis Rodman in 1990. After averaging 7.9 points and 7.6 rebounds last season as a rookie, Drummond is up to 13.1 points this year, along with a team-best 12.2 rebounds that is among the league's top five. Rodney Stuckey is the Pistons' leading scorer, averaging 16.9 points off of Detroit's bench.
ABOUT THE HEAT (14-3): Miami's win streak is its longest since last season's historic 27-game run, which went down as the second longest streak in NBA history. James, who leads the Heat while averaging 26.2 points, has been hampered a bit by back spasms suffered in Friday's win in Toronto, though his combined 53 points on 18-of-30 shooting against the Raptors and Bobcats the last two games wouldn't suggest as much. "It's not where I was before the Toronto game," James said of his back, "But I'm still able to help my team."
